The Photography Seminar is an entry level course for aspiring photographers. Participants will be trained and equipped in the basic principles of photography and will have the opportunity to develop their skills with hands on experience*. As well as learning the art form, participants will learn how photography can be used as a tool within ministry and missional contexts to inspire others to know God and what He is doing in the world. This intensive 3 week in-person seminar will be taught from a Christian worldview, and will include teachings by instructors and professionals from a variety of backgrounds.

Our curriculum is designed to help participants gain a basic working knowledge of cameras and the skill of taking photos as well develop an awareness of the art form of photography and how it can serve you in a missional context.

You can expect a lot of fun! You will be stretched in your creativity and photo taking capabilities. Learning will occur during morning, afternoon and occasional evening classes. Classes and workshops will vary in time from a few hours to a few minutes. There will be group and individual projects and local outreaches, and plenty of time using your camera! Attendees will also participate in YWAM Muizenberg base activities such as intercession, worship times and meals.
Prospective students have the opportunity to apply for an 3 month internship directly following the program.
