The CDS gives an amazing foundation for seeing communities becoming all God wants them to be. You will gain a deeper understanding of the issues of development, the difference between relief and development, what Biblical principles underpin a ‘kingdom’ approach to development, and be equipped with a toolkit to assess the communities you work in. More than that, if we want to see transformation in others and in our communities, we need to recognize that development ‘starts with me’ – so expect this school to be a place of personal transformation and growth.
The curriculum is designed to help you develop a solid, basic working knowledge of development, scripture-based development values, fundamental skills, Godly character, and good relationships.
The twelve-week lecture phase includes:
WORLDVIEW
Gain an understanding for God’s heart for nations and how what we think, value and believe impacts societies.
EXPAND
Facilitate holistic growth towards God’s intentions in targeted communities and nations, resulting in a fuller expression of the kingdom of God.
MULTIPLY
Be effective multipliers of community development from a Biblical Christian perspective that leads to transformation.
