The fourth of YWAM’s 18 Foundational Values is to “Practice Worship and Intercessory Prayer.”
In a hurting and broken world, Jesus invites us to bring our burdens to Him. We were never meant to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders.
Worship and Intercession are expressions of communing with God, of seeking His heart, of giving and receiving. These expressions come from relationship. You may come to Him with a heavy burden, you may groan with anguish for something deeply troubling as you surrender it to God. You may open up your hands and trust in Him to be God over these concerns, and the concerns of the world.
God is deeply committed to the world, more than we could ever be. He simply invites us to partner with him, cry out, receive, and release.
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
