“As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. ‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will make you fishers of men.’ At once they left their nets and followed him.”
[Matthew 4:18-20 NIV.]
Peter and Andrew took a risk that day, when they left their nets and took Jesus at His word, following him and walking away from their familiar. Their livelihood. Their comfort zones.
Jesus spoke, they listened, believed, and went.
For those called to missions, it often takes a leap of faith. We walk away from all we know and say a simple yes to Jesus’ invitation to follow him. The rest works itself out along the way.
What is Jesus’ invitation to you?
Listen; be still.
Reflect on this: What do you need to let go of in order to follow Him?
