Engage and Embrace DTS 2019

Engage and Embrace DTS! - YWAM DTS

January– June 2019 / Cape Town, South Africa

A Discipleship Training School is more of an experience than a school. It is a journey where you develop truth, faith and character. During the ENGAGE & EMBRACE DTS you will learn to ENGAGE God and EMBRACE the World!

The Engage and Embrace DTS exists because we have a passion to see the body of Christ Engaging God in a way that is relevant to this generation. When we Engage God we can know His heart for Embracing everyone, especially those who are being oppressed and exploited.

What does God have to say about racism, xenophobia, refugees, etc? These are just some of today’s big topics that we will discuss and gain a greater understanding of. We are called to be the light of the world according to Matthew 5:14, and we will look at how in the midst of a world that is asking questions and feeling more confused

We will have teachers from all over the world from various church and cultural backgrounds give their input on the school. The topics will cover a wide range from how to Hear the Voice of God to having a Biblical Worldview, all with the intention of knowing God deeper. Outside of the classroom students can enjoy the local life by visiting all the coffee shops, surfing or taking a good book and reading it while overlooking the South Atlantic Ocean.

2019 dts

The first three months of DTS will take place at YWAM Muizenberg on the Southern Peninsula of Cape Town, South Africa. During lecture we will spend time in worship to God together. Seeking his heart and searching his word for his ways. We will engage in intercession for nations and evangelism in this nation. The DTS is geared to disciple each person by creating a live learn environment where we rub shoulders with those of different cultures, which as we discover others cultures we see more who God made us and we can celebrate the diversity. Every part of the DTS is designed with help from the Holy Spirit to facilitate growth. you will be challenged to live lives that reflect Christ in all we do. While on outreach we focus on those that don’t have relationship with God yet. Reconciling them to their heavenly father

Continuing in a posture of learning and with a vision of “the Beloved Community”, our final three months of DTS will consist of splitting into smaller focused outreach teams and heading to the nations. Carrying the two handed gospel which seeks to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of people, we will continue our communal discipleship journey while serving communities of conflict the world over. The hope for these outreaches is to be students of the peoples, places, and stories we come into contact with while discovering and sharing the heart of Jesus and supporting various ministries and Kingdom movements along the way.

Join us for the January DTS if you desire to share your life for six months and have a passion for discovering Christ within yourself, within a community of active discipleship, and within a world aching for hope. APPLY TODAY!

Meet The School Leaders!

Noah

I officially moved to Cape Town in January 2018.  Before YWAM, I worked for a youth ministry called Young Life and therefore have a major heart for discipling youths and young adults.  I have no family here in South Africa but I am really hoping they’ll come down for a visit sometime soon. I enjoy worship and evangelism and am really excited to be able to learn more and grow in those areas throughout this DTS.

My favourite pastime is definitely playing the guitar and singing, and my largest musical influences are probably “City and Colour” and “John Mayer”.  Besides music, I love travelling, getting to know people, and art.

I staffed the Engage and Embrace DTS last January and now I am very excited to take the role of school leader!

Gurshvin

I love to serve, especially in missions. I am called to work with people of all ages but my passion is to journey with this younger generation and to raise them up for the Kingdom of God. I believe that as I give input and lead, I am also constantly learning and growing too.

I am a motivating, pursuing, determined young man and I love to teach about different topics, especially the Fear of the Lord. I love to make jokes, hang out and have fun with people.

I am so excited to journey with you in this school as we all discover that there is so much more to God and to enjoy with Him more than we have ever experienced before!
